The newest thing to hit Irish Charts- The Rubberbandits - Horse Outside

I think only in Ireland would this song become so popular. The Rubberbandits are regulars on Republic of telly. They are a hip-hop dup from Limerick. They conceal their identity by covering their faces in masks made from plastic shopping bags. I think its the accent and the plastic bags that made me laugh. There was a picture of them in the newspapers unmasked. I just thought it was funny for the newspaper to be reporting on them just to reveal their identity!! Comedian Tommy Tiernan has even being talking about them on his facebook age. They have over 4 million hits on there You tube page and they just lost out to Matt Cardle for number one and that had to be good because the English X Factor is huge over here. Like people stop goin out on a Saturday night and that's all people talk about for months. Just thought it would be funny to share with you :-) enjoy

What I'm really looking forward to: Kings of Leon Concert

I am going to see Kings of Leon in Slane (Meath,Ireland) on the 28th of May Next year. I think this is one of the concerts that I am really really looking forward to. I did see them at Oxegen (2009) but I was really sick (not drunk) and I had to leave and go home. Long story I ended up in hospital tent at 7.30am because my friend thought I might have Swine flu. I didn't but it wasn't fun for the two of us in a pop up tent in lashing rain!

I have a couple of their albums and they are really great. I love their new album. If your interested in checking it out before you buy you can listen to it here (not sure if it works outside of Ireland though)

I went to see a tribute band called Knights of Leon in the Academy they were really good.

Did anyone see KOL Excess all areas with Dave Berry???

What I'm really looking forward to:The Script Concert

I am going to see The Script in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin in July 2011. I am so excited I have already seen this band twice before. Once at Oxegen when they were only starting out with their 1st album and the next time was when they were supporting U2 at Croke Park. The both times they were amazing. I have tried to get tickets for there gigs loads of times and they sell out really quick. I was so excited for their new album to come out I went up the North to see if I could get it and I was 3 days to early! Embarrassing wasn't the word :-)

Isn't Danny gorgeous?

Anyone going to any good gigs??

What I'm really looking forward to: Maroon 5 Concert

I am going to the Maroon 5 concert in the Grand Canal Theatre (Dublin) in February 2011. I can't wait I have being dying to see this band for years. I loved watched them on MTV live sessions and it always seemed to be a good show. O and Adam isn't the worst person to look at for a hour or more. He is gorgeous.

Check out there latest Video.

My Forever 21 Experience (Dublin)

Well I went in on the Sunday, it had opened on Friday so I thought it wouldn't have being too packed. I was very wrong. The 3 floors were so busy i found it hard to tell what collections where were ie Faith 21 or shoes! I started on the top floor went down the escalator to the 2nd floor couldn't find the escalator to get down and ended up having to use the staff stairs to get out. Only found this out when I realised the red rope at the end of the stairs and my sister had done the same thing that day!! I braved it again on the Monday and I seen a leather Jacket I liked.

Here is a picture. Its from the Faith 21 collection and its was €34.80. which isn't bad. I wore it today and it kept me nice and warm.

What do you think of Forever 21??

My favorite Lip Balm

has to be the body shops coconut lip butter.

Why I love it:
1st the is gorgeous, 2nd the feel on my lips. Its lovely and moisturizing, and 3rd the colour. I already have very pinky lips so I wouldn't use lipsticks during the week so this is great to just put on my lips. Its gives them a nice shiny not glossy effect.

The price isn't too bad either 4 a 10ml tub. In Ireland it is approx. €6 and in the UK its around 4 pound.

Also it lasts ages so thumbs up for that

The Social Network Vs. Facebook and Google my experience of interviewing with both companies

So I went to see the social Network movie last night and I thought as a film it was very good. I hadn't really heard of the back story to Facebook apart from that it was started by college students and that it had started as just a college thing. The movie obviously goes into more details of how and why it was started. I have had a interest in IT industry as potential employers since I was in college. I suppose it came from the projects and assignments that I did. The company I wanted to work for when I left college was Google. After doing a project on their culture I thought this was the company for me. I would tell my friends all of the best things I had researched about the company and every time I seen a role on their website I would apply.

After years of not even getting a response I had given up. But recently I seen that they were advertising for a role that I had done in my job (also one of there competitors) I thought I would do well. Well that didn't last. I had a phone interview with their recruitment person and it lasted a total of 11mins and 46 seconds!! So a few days later I got unfortunately you were unsuccessful email..blah bhal.. but 2 weeks later I was approached by the outsourced recruitment team about the same role and I explained that I had phone interview and wasn't successful and 3 weeks later i got a email from the same team asking me if I was interested in the role again. I did the explaining of I had already interviewed. you think for such a well to do company that they could keep track of who has contacted who?

Also I have interviewed with Facebook on 2 occasions for the same role. The total of phone interviews and face to face interview are approx. 8. U think by now I would know I would have know what to expect. On the second occasion I was told to lie at the interview by the one of the recruitment team. I know everyone big's up themselves on a CV but I just cant tell lies and I wouldn't feel right doing it. So I did big up some that I had done (not lie) one of the interviews kept questioning me about it. Which I was told they wouldn't.

Also I was asked if I had a FB account I said I had and the next thing the interviewer asked would I mind them looking at it. I said no, knowing that it was private meaning they couldn't. Sure why would they. And then to my shock it got weirder... the next thing the interviewer said I can't look at your page. I said OK, I wasn't sure where he was going with this. Why ask to see it in the 1st place. He said 'you know we cant see it' (he meant he couldn't hack my page sort of thing) I said OK, sure it is private anyway which I think he was shocked by. I don't think he had thought I would stand up for myself but in the industry that I am in you cant let someone walk over you.

It mad me laugh at the interview method of Mark with the interns (they had to write codes and drink shots) in the Social network compared to my own experience interviewing with Facebook. I would love to ask him why did the interview process come to this. I would have liked to be interview like in the movie.

No.7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour

I got a No.7 voucher the other day so I thought I would have a look at the nail polishes. I usually just buy clear polishes. Put this colour caught my eye. usual price €9 but was only €1.50 with voucher.

I just checked the boots website and it says its suppose to last up to 5 days.

Good points

  • It only needed too coats and I didn't have to put a pink base underneath. I used Revlon's Nail care base coat (clear)

  • There was no need for a top coat. It has a sheen effect so I didn't think it was need.

  • I kept a eye of the when it started to chip. Day 1 was fine no chips, Day 2 was good to, Day 3 was when I started to notice the edges where it was wearing off and day 4 was when it really started to chip.

  • It didn't smudge at all

Bad points

  • It didn't last up to 5 days like it says

  • Only 10ml bottle. The Revlon polishes are 14.7 ml and both are similar prices

Jewelry bargain of the day

I popped into Cleary's today wandered into Bay!

They are selling loads of Jewelry and accessories from €1.75 to €2.50.

This is what I picked up

The hair clip reminded me of something that Katy Perry would wear.

I got the Charm Bracelet and Chain of the Eiffel Tower Charm. Love the little pink bow

The ring is cream and Silver and it says 'Perfect' and just some badges. Not sure why I got these just liked them!

Bargain of the month

I was recently in Debenhams (Dublin) in the sales and I noticed a huge group of woman at a stall. I was like god that's strange. I looked up and there was a sign saying everything €1. Sure there is never anything going for a euro nowadays. So I was over like a shot. My poor mammy was left with my bags!

I picked up eye shadows, lipsticks and lip glosses.
Some of them had being testers or had just got a bit messed up. I made sure to clean them with rubbing alchol before I used them and they were grand. There was still loads of product left in them. For everything it was €17. sure one eyeshadow had €15 price tag!
Best make up bargain :-)
